Expert Care for Vulnerable Newborns

At Miracle Hospital in Bangalore, our dedicated Neonatal Infection Management services are designed to provide expert diagnosis and timely, life-saving treatment for infections in vulnerable newborns. We understand that a newborn’s immune system is still developing, making them particularly susceptible to infections that can quickly become serious. Our expert neonatologists and critical care team are on constant alert, ready to provide rapid intervention and specialized care to ensure your baby’s health and well-being.

As a leading women’s and children’s hospital in Bangalore with a recognized Level III NICU, we are committed to the highest standards of infection control, ensuring a sterile and safe environment for your baby’s recovery.

Why Timely Diagnosis is Critical

Neonatal infections, such as neonatal sepsis (a severe, body-wide response to infection), are a major concern. Early symptoms can be subtle and easily missed, which is why a rapid and accurate diagnosis is essential. Our expert team is highly skilled in:

1
Recognizing Subtle Signs
Identifying early indicators of infection, such as temperature changes, lethargy, or poor feeding.
2
Rapid Diagnostic Testing
We utilize a combination of clinical assessments, blood cultures, and advanced molecular techniques to quickly identify the causative pathogen.
3
Differentiating Between Common and Complex Infections
Our specialists have the expertise to distinguish between various types of infections, including bacterial, viral, and fungal, to ensure the right treatment is started immediately.
4
Offer a Child-Friendly Environment
Our entire department is designed to reduce a child's anxiety, making medical visits a positive experience.

Our Comprehensive Infection Management Services in Bangalore

We offer a full spectrum of services, from prevention and diagnosis to advanced treatment, all within our state-of-the-art NICU.

Advanced Treatment Protocols
  • Prompt Antibiotic Therapy: For suspected bacterial infections, we begin prompt, empiric antimicrobial therapy, which may include broad-spectrum antibiotics, to provide immediate protection while awaiting culture results.
  • Targeted Treatment: Once the specific pathogen is identified, we refine the treatment with targeted antibiotic or antiviral therapy to maximize effectiveness and minimize the risk of antibiotic resistance.
  • Supportive Care: Our team provides comprehensive supportive care to manage associated complications such as respiratory distress, fever, or metabolic derangements.
  • Specialized Procedures: In cases of severe infection, we are equipped to provide advanced interventions like blood transfusions.
Prevention is Our Priority
  • Strict Infection Control: We adhere to the most stringent infection control protocols, including meticulous hand hygiene, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and enhanced environmental cleaning to reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections.
  • Maternal Intrapartum Antibiotics: We collaborate with our maternity team to ensure at-risk mothers receive antibiotic prophylaxis during labor to prevent neonatal infections.
  • Breastfeeding Support: We actively encourage and support breastfeeding, as breast milk contains vital immunoglobulins and antimicrobial peptides that help protect your baby from infections.
Family-Centered Approach

We understand the anxiety that comes with a sick baby. We are committed to a family-centered approach that includes:

  • Transparent Communication: Our team will provide clear, regular updates on your baby’s condition and treatment plan.
  • Emotional Support: We offer counseling and support resources to help you and your family navigate this difficult time.
  • Post-Discharge Follow-up: We provide clear instructions for follow-up care and monitoring, including screenings for hearing and vision, to ensure a complete recovery.

Miracle Hospital needs to seriously improve its patient management. They don’t follow the given appointment time slots and allow random walk-ins, which causes unnecessary delays and inconvenience.Waiting for long hours with an infant is extremely painful and stressful. The reception desk appears helpless in handling this mismanagement and shows very little concern for patients’ issues. On top of that, the waiting room is highly uncomfortable, the AC wasn’t working, and there was hardly any space to sit, turning it into complete chaos. While the doctors are good and caring, even they seem helpless due to the poor system in place. The appointment booking process is outdated and difficult, with no proper app or mechanism to track slots. For a hospital that aims to provide care, such experiences make things worse for patients and attendants. Hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on fixing these critical issues.

I had called this hospital to check if there was an option for emergency pediatric checkup for my 9 months baby. Upon confirmation, we reached hospital and paid 1000 rupees at reception. We waited for 10 minutes and when we checked with nurse about the time, she mentioned that our waiting number was 7 and doctor is taking around 30 mins per child. So, as per her maths, it would take 3 hrs for our turn to come. Thats crazy considering it was not regular appointment but emergency visit and nobody can wait that longer. I told the receptionist to cancel the appointment & refund the amount but she was not at all cooperative and neither did she refund the amount to us. She never informed during payment that consultation would take that much time. We left this hospital and went to Motherhood Hospital for emergency consultation. This hospital is a fraud and service is pathetic. Typical local hospital type. Don't visit here. There is no one professional here. They don't refund money.

The hospital is very clean and well maintained. The treatment provided was good, though I found it to be a bit on the expensive side. I would especially like to appreciate Nurse Sampurna for her excellent care. She was very kind, friendly, and caring towards patients. She went out of her way to ensure comfort and did her best in every possible way. Her positive attitude and warm approach made a big difference in my experience. One thing I would suggest to management is to please be more transparent with billing. Patients should carefully check their medical bills and table counts, as corrections or exchanges are not allowed. Overall, a good hospital with quality treatment and compassionate staff, but billing practices could be improved.

Please avoid this hospital at all costs. Extremely slow staff. Negligence all around. Average doctors who continuously over medicate. Came for paediatric visit.
